THE UNPROFITABLE PROFIT: GAINS THAT BANKRUPT THE SOUL PART 12: FINAL LAP: THE PROFITABLE LIFE — WHEN THE SOUL IS PRESERVED AND REWARDED
Song of Songs 2:11
“For behold, the winter is past; the rain is over and gone.”
In Part 3, He spoke: “Arise, My love…” It was not a command of condemnation, but an invitation of love. Ama finally said yes—and arose from her hidden place.
📜 Verse Breakdown and Imager
Now that the Beloved has called her out, He gives her a reason to step forward with confidence:
“Behold, the winter is past; the rain is over and gone.”
Here’s what that means:
“Winter” in biblical imagery often represents a season of spiritual dryness, coldness, silence, or pain. It’s the hidden place, the waiting room, or the struggle with self.
“Rain” may symbolize cleansing or difficulty. In this context, the rain is over—the time of hardship, weeping, and testing has come to an end.
“Behold” is an emphatic term—it’s the Beloved saying, “See it! Know it! Believe it!”
God is declaring:
Your dark season is not your final story. A shift has happened. You may have been late in responding, but you are right on time for what I’ve prepared.
🕊️ Ama’s Story: “No More Winter”
The next morning, Ama walked outside. The hostel compound was quiet. Early sun poured gently over the plants, and the air was warm—comforting.
It was just weather, but it felt like a message.
She opened her Bible to the same passage.
Verse 11.
"The winter is past."
She paused.
Something melted in her heart.
This wasn’t just a poetic line anymore. It was her reality.
The emotional winter she had been trapped in—the guilt, the confusion, the silence—was ending.
It hadn’t all disappeared. But something inside her had changed. She felt invited, not imprisoned.
She took a deep breath, like a soul inhaling spring for the first time.
Her journal opened to a blank page, and she wrote:
“I believe You. The winter is over.”
