WHAT ARE YOU FEEDING THE NEXT GENERATION? PART 2: WHAT HAPPENS INSIDE YOU? James 1:22 (NLT) “But do not just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.”   In Part 1, we asked a simple but important question: What are you feeding yourself? We discovered that spiritual growth requires spiritual nourishment. We also learned that what we repeatedly consume can influence what we become and eventually what we produce. But there is another important question. What happens after you consume something? This question takes us back to the thought that started this series. A mother eats food. The baby does not receive the food directly. The mother's body processes what she has eaten. The nutrients are absorbed, regulated and used by her body as part of the production of breast milk. The baby receives the nourishment through the milk. The food has gone through a process. That process made me think about our spiritual lives. What ...

THE CALL BEYOND THE WALL. PART 5: FLOWERS AND SONGS RETURN

THE CALL BEYOND THE WALL.
PART 5: FLOWERS AND SONGS RETURN

Song of Songs 2:12a

“The flowers appear on the earth, the time of singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land.”

In Part 4, He declared: “The winter is past.” A new season had begun. Ama accepted it with a heart ready to heal.

📜 Verse Breakdown and Imagery

Now the scene blooms:

The flowers appear on the earth, the time of singing has come…”

This verse introduces three powerful images:

Flowers appear” – Life is returning. What was once buried in the cold soil of winter now emerges in beauty. Spiritually, this represents the visible signs of renewal, joy, and hope coming to life.

Time of singing” – Joy is now expressed. It’s no longer a silent peace—it becomes worship, celebration, and praise. Your private healing becomes public joy.

Voice of the turtledove” – In ancient times, the turtledove’s coo was associated with springtime and love’s return. It represents the gentle whispers of the Holy Spirit, signaling new beginnings.

This is how Jesus brings you out of spiritual winter: not just into survival, but into singing, beauty, and intimacy again.

🕊️ Ama’s Story: “Let the Songs Begin”

Ama walked into the chapel on campus for the first time in months. It wasn’t a Sunday. No one was preaching. A few students were just praying silently.

She sat quietly, not planning to cry. But the tears came anyway.

Not from pain—this time from relief. From peace. From the smile she didn’t even realize had returned to her face.

In her heart, a song began to rise. Soft, unsure, but real.

She hummed. Then whispered. Then sang.

Not for anyone to hear. Just Jesus.

Later that evening, she passed a flowering tree behind the cafeteria. It hadn’t bloomed when she last walked that way.

She smiled. It was just a tree. But it felt like a message.

The time of singing has come.”

And it had.
