THE UNPROFITABLE PROFIT: GAINS THAT BANKRUPT THE SOUL PART 12: FINAL LAP: THE PROFITABLE LIFE — WHEN THE SOUL IS PRESERVED AND REWARDED
Genesis 2:7 (NIV):
“Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.”
We discovered that before the rain, God sent a mist — a gentle whisper of grace that rose from the earth. It taught us that while rain falls from above, grace often rises from within. The mist sustains, prepares, and softens the ground before abundance comes.
God’s greatest works rarely begin in the spotlight.
They start underground. Hidden. Quiet. Slow.
When God formed man, He didn’t start from heaven — He began from the dust.
There’s something powerful about this: God doesn’t despise small, dirty, or unnoticed beginnings.
Before He breathes, He builds. Before He reveals, He shapes.
The same way He formed man from the soil, He’s forming your destiny through pressure, patience, and process — in the dark, unseen corners of your life.
1. Dust Is Not Waste — It’s Raw Material
What others discard, God designs.
Man came from dust — not gold, not marble, not crystal. God deliberately used the lowest form of material to prove that worth isn’t found in substance, but in divine touch.
When you feel ordinary or overlooked, remember: you’re dust in the hands of a Designer.
You’re not unworthy; you’re unfinished.
💡 Lesson: God’s process often begins with what looks worthless because He’s about to demonstrate priceless glory.
So don’t be ashamed of your dust season — the place where things feel unclear or undefined. It’s proof that God is forming something divine out of your life.
2. Formation Happens in Hidden Places
God didn’t form Adam in public. The making happened in the quiet — beneath the visible realm.
That’s how God still works today.
When nothing seems to be happening on the surface, it’s often because God is forming something deep inside you.
The underground season is where you gain structure — character, humility, consistency, and strength.
If God releases you before you’re formed, the weight of the blessing will crush you.
🌾 Truth: God hides what He’s forming until it’s strong enough to stand the light.
So when God hides you, don’t panic — it’s protection, not punishment.
3. Breath Comes After Formation
Notice the sequence: God formed, then He breathed.
Formation came before animation.
This means God will not breathe life into what He hasn’t yet shaped.
Many pray for divine breath (inspiration, opportunity, promotion), but God first ensures the vessel can carry it.
When you feel stuck or delayed, maybe it’s because God is still aligning your structure — your attitude, your priorities, your capacity.
⚙️ Principle: Don’t rush the forming if you desire lasting fullness. God’s breath only sustains what His hands have shaped.
4. Hidden Work Produces Visible Glory
When the time was right, the man who was once dust stood tall as God’s image-bearer.
That’s what happens when you let God finish His underground work — the dust becomes divine.
The same soil that once seemed useless becomes the foundation for glory.
So don’t despise the hidden season. Every seed, every formation, every unseen shaping is preparing you for the rain to come.
🌧️ Encouragement: Stay in the process — your visibility will come after your formation.
🌻 Reflection:
Can you identify areas in your life where God seems silent but is secretly shaping you?
Remember: buried doesn’t mean forgotten. Hidden doesn’t mean abandoned. Sometimes, the hand of God works best where no eyes can see.
🙏🏽 Prayer:
Lord, I thank You for working in my hidden places. Teach me to trust Your process even when I don’t see progress. Shape me, mold me, and form me until I can carry Your breath. May my dust become a display of Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
