WHEN HEAVEN DOWNLOADS POWER: REFILLING VS INFILLING. PART 3: SPIRITUAL CONNECTIVITY – POWERED FOR PURPOSE: STAYING SPIRITUALLY ONLINE

James 1:15
Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.
RECAP OF PART 17
In the last chapter, we explored how lustful desires act as “sugar overload,” offering fleeting pleasure but leaving a lasting emptiness. In this final lap, we’ll focus on Bitterness and Unforgiveness (Processed Foods)—revealing how these toxic emotions quietly build up, harden our hearts, and block us from fully experiencing God’s love and peace.
4. Bitterness and Unforgiveness (Processed Foods)
Bad for Growth:
Holding on to bitterness and unforgiveness is like consuming processed, artificial foods during pregnancy. These “foods” provide no nourishment and only fill the body with toxins, leading to long-term damage.
Scripture Reference: “Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.” — Ephesians 4:31 (NIV)
This verse calls us to remove toxic emotions that poison our spirit and prevent healing.
Analogy:
Just as processed foods offer no real nourishment, bitterness and unforgiveness block spiritual growth, leaving us spiritually unhealthy and disconnected from God’s peace.
Just as expectant mothers must carefully choose nutritious foods to ensure their babies grow properly, we must select the right spiritual nutrients to guide our desires in the right direction. We are called to nourish our hearts and minds with God’s Word, prayer, worship, and fellowship—just as mothers need vitamins, minerals, and healthy foods during pregnancy.
On the other hand, consuming "spiritual junk food"—such as toxic media, negative influences, and unchecked sinful desires—leads to unhealthy spiritual growth, resulting in sin and spiritual death.
REFLECTION:
What bitterness or unforgiveness are you holding on to that is blocking your spiritual growth? How can you take steps to release it and embrace God’s peace?
Call to Action:
Make a conscious decision to forgive those who have hurt you, and ask God to help you let go of bitterness. Replace those feelings with prayer, worship, and meditation on God’s Word to restore your spiritual health.
PRAYER:
Lord, help me release every trace of bitterness and unforgiveness. Heal the wounds in my heart and fill the empty spaces with Your peace, grace, and joy. I choose to forgive, as You have forgiven me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
📌Let’s Talk:
Have you been holding on to any bitterness, even unknowingly?
What do you think is the root cause of unforgiveness in your life?
Are there people you need to forgive to move forward in your relationship with God?
Take a moment today to reflect and write down the names of anyone you need to release. Then, commit them to God in prayer and choose to walk free.
Please kindly share your thoughts, testimonies, or questions—we grow better together.
Thank you!
