THE UNPROFITABLE PROFIT: GAINS THAT BANKRUPT THE SOUL PART 12: FINAL LAP: THE PROFITABLE LIFE — WHEN THE SOUL IS PRESERVED AND REWARDED
Genesis 2:7 (NIV):
“Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.”
We discovered that before God breathes life, He first forms it. Formation happens underground, in hidden seasons where God shapes our character, discipline, and resilience. Dust is not waste — it’s the material for divine destiny.
The moment God’s breath entered Adam, everything changed.
Still dust — but now divine.
Still on earth — but carrying heaven.
That’s what the breath of God does: it transforms mere existence into meaningful living.
This isn’t just about oxygen — it’s about inspiration, purpose, and power.
The breath of life is God’s Spirit moving into man’s structure. It’s the bridge between being formed and being alive.
In every believer’s journey, there comes a point where God breathes — and everything stagnant begins to stir.
1. The Breath Is God’s Seal of Ownership
When God breathed into Adam, He wasn’t just giving him life — He was marking him as His own.
The breath said, “You came from Me, and you belong to Me.”
Every time the Holy Spirit revives your heart, you’re reminded of your origin and ownership. You don’t belong to failure, fear, or the past — you belong to the One who breathed into you.
💡 Lesson: The breath of God isn’t just power; it’s identity. You are God’s property, carrying heaven’s DNA.
So when life tries to define you by what you’ve lost, remember who breathed into you.
2. Without the Breath, Formation Is Futile
A body without breath is only a statue — beautiful, but lifeless.
In the same way, a life filled with structure, education, or discipline but without the Spirit of God remains limited.
Many people have form but lack breath — routines without revival, systems without Spirit, order without overflow.
God’s desire is not to make us religiously formed but spiritually alive.
⚙️ Truth: Structure without Spirit leads to stagnation. But when the breath comes, purpose awakens.
That’s why you must keep your heart open to the breath of God — through prayer, worship, and surrender. Every breath of His Spirit refreshes your purpose.
3. The Breath Empowers Movement and Multiplication
The moment Adam received God’s breath, he could see, speak, and steward creation.
That’s what the breath does — it awakens dormant potential and releases divine creativity.
Every dream that’s been lying still, every purpose you’ve buried in fear — one divine breath can bring it all back.
The breath of God is not just to make you live — it’s to make you move.
Principle: Breath brings motion, and motion reveals mission.
When God breathes on you, He doesn’t just revive you — He commissions you.
4. The Breath Connects Heaven’s Life to Earth’s Dust
Man is the meeting point of dust and divinity.
Through the breath, God fused heaven’s life with earth’s soil. That’s why the believer can live naturally yet function supernaturally.
You might be made of dust, but you’re animated by divinity.
That’s what gives you authority, creativity, and resilience — God lives in your lungs.
💖 Encouragement: You are not just surviving; you are sustained by divine air.
So breathe again — not just with your lungs, but with faith. Every inhale is a reminder: He’s still in me.
🌻 Reflection:
What’s one area in your life that feels lifeless right now?
Invite the breath of God there. Whether it’s your passion, your prayer life, your confidence, or your calling — His breath can bring it back.
🙏🏽 Prayer:
Lord, breathe into me again.
Fill every dry area of my life with Your Spirit. Let Your breath restore my fire, awaken my purpose, and revive every part of me that’s lost strength. May I live, move, and breathe in Your presence daily. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
