THE UNPROFITABLE PROFIT: GAINS THAT BANKRUPT THE SOUL PART 12: FINAL LAP: THE PROFITABLE LIFE — WHEN THE SOUL IS PRESERVED AND REWARDED
2 Samuel 9:1–2
“…there was a servant of the house of Saul whose name was Ziba.”
🔁 SERIES INTRODUCTION
This series explores how God lifts people from forgotten places into honor — using places (Lodebar), people (Ziba), and processes (grace, remembrance, restoration).
Part 1 focuses on where the journey begins: Lodebar.
Before God brings people to the table, He often allows them to sit in silence. Before public honor, there is private survival. Before restoration, there is Lodebar.
Lodebar is not just a location — it is a season.
🏜️ What Is Lodebar?
Lodebar means:
No pasture
No word
No communication
It was a dry, forgotten place on the edge of Israel — and that is where Mephibosheth lived.
🧭 1. Spiritually — Lodebar Is A Place Of Silence
In Lodebar:
God is not speaking loudly
Prayers feel unanswered
Direction feels unclear
Yet silence does not mean abandonment.
🔑 Truth: God is often silent when He is working behind the scenes.
💔 2. Emotionally — Lodebar is a Place Of Shame
Mephibosheth carried:
Family disgrace
Fear of rejection
A sense of unworthiness
Lodebar becomes the place where people lower their expectations and accept less from life.
🔑 Truth: Feeling forgotten does not mean you are forgotten.
🪙 3. Physically / Practically — Lodebar as a Place Of Limitation.
No pasture means:
No growth
No resources
No opportunities
Lodebar seasons are when:
Money is tight
Progress is slow
Strength is low
🔑 Truth: God can lift you from a limited place without you fixing everything first.
👥 4. Socially — Lodebar is a Place Of Isolation
Lodebar was far from the palace. Far from influence. Far from recognition.
It represents:
Being overlooked
Being disconnected
Being out of the loop
🔑 Truth: Heaven knows your address even when society ignores you.
🛑 Why Does God Allow Lodebar?
Lodebar is allowed to:
Preserve you (danger may exist elsewhere)
Protect you (timing matters)
Prepare you (identity before exposure)
Sometimes the worst place becomes the safest place until God is ready.
✨ Key Lesson Of Part 1
Lodebar is not your punishment — it is your preparation. It is not your end — it is your entry point.
🧠 Reflection Questions
What feels silent in your life right now?
Where have you felt hidden or forgotten?
Could God be preserving you rather than punishing you?
🙏 Prayer
Lord, help me not to despise my Lodebar season. Give me strength in silence, hope in dryness, and faith to believe that You still remember me. Prepare me quietly for public restoration. Amen.
In Part 2, we explore “The Fall That Led to Lodebar” —
how one accident changed Mephibosheth’s life, and how sudden falls can redirect destiny.

Then don’t keep it to yourself.
Share it with someone who feels forgotten, hidden, or stuck in a silent season.
Let this word travel beyond you.
If it challenged how you see silence, let it change how you wait.
If it spoke to you in the quiet, let it speak through you to others.
Be a witness—
carry hope from Lodebar to the hearts God has connected you to.
