THE ENVOYS OF BABYLON: PROTECTING YOUR GOD-GIVEN TREASURES PART 3: THE SILVER — PROTECTING THE PURITY OF YOUR REDEMPTION Isaiah 39:2; Psalm 12:6; 1 Peter 1:18–19 "...Hezekiah showed them his treasure house, the silver..." (Isaiah 39:2). In Part 2, we discovered that the first treasure Hezekiah exposed was his treasure house, representing the human heart. We learned that before the enemy attacks our possessions, he seeks access to our hearts because everything we do flows from there. A guarded heart is the foundation for a guarded life. Today, we move to the first treasure inside the treasure house. God's treasures are not arranged by accident. After mentioning the treasure house, Scripture immediately mentions the silver . This reminds us that after guarding our hearts, we must also guard the work of redemption God has accomplished within us. - "...Hezekiah showed them his treasure house, the silver..." (Isaiah 39:2). The first item mentioned inside Hezekiah...

WHEN FOLLOWING JESUS COSTS EVERYTHING PART 10: WHAT YOU GAIN WHEN YOU LET GO

WHEN FOLLOWING JESUS COSTS EVERYTHING

PART 10: WHAT YOU GAIN WHEN YOU LET GO

Mark 10:28–30 (NIV)

Then Peter spoke up, “We have left everything to follow you!” “Truly I tell you,” Jesus Christ replied, “no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age… and in the age to come eternal life.”

In Part 9, we saw that the rich young ruler walked away sad—not because he didn’t understand Jesus, but because he couldn’t surrender. We learned that sorrow without obedience leads to distance from God.

Conviction must lead to action, or it will fade into indifference.

Opening Thought

Following Jesus will cost you something—but it will never leave you empty. What you give up for God is never a loss. It is an exchange.

Key Phrase

We have left everything to follow you…”

Insight 🔍

After the encounter with the rich young ruler, Peter the Apostle speaks up:

We have left everything…

Unlike the rich young ruler who walked away, the disciples:

let go. Followed through. Stayed committed. And Jesus responds with a powerful assurance:

No sacrifice in the Kingdom goes unrewarded.

Deeper Truth 🔥

Jesus did not deny the cost—He confirmed it.

You may lose:

comfort

familiarity

certain relationships

personal plans

But He promises:

What you gain will outweigh what you lost.

What Do You Gain? 💡

According to Jesus, surrender brings:

Spiritual family leads to new relationships and divine connections.

Provision results in God supplying you in unexpected ways.

Purpose brings clarity about what to do.

Peace produces inner calm that money cannot give.

Eternal life is the final outcome or reward.

Spiritual Reality 📖

The rich young ruler focused on what he would lose. The disciples discovered what they would gain. Your perspective determines your response.

If you focus on loss, you will hesitate. If you understand the gain, you will surrender.

Real-life Reflection 🧭

Many believers struggle to let go because they think:

What if I lose too much?”

“What if it doesn’t work out?”

“What if I regret it?”

But the truth is:

You will never regret obedience to God.

Spiritual Lesson 🧠

This passage teaches us that:

Surrender is not loss—it is exchange. God is not unjust to forget your sacrifice. What God gives is always greater than what you release.

Powerful Truth 💡

Anything you lose for God makes room for something greater from God.

Reflection Questions 🤔

What am I afraid of losing if I fully follow Jesus?

Do I trust God enough to believe His promises of reward?

Am I focused more on sacrifice or on what God will provide?

What step of surrender is God asking me to take now?

Prayer 🙏

Lord Jesus, Help me to trust You completely. Give me the faith to let go without fear, knowing that You are faithful to reward obedience. Shift my focus from what I may lose to what You have promised to give. Strengthen my heart to follow You fully. Amen.

Call To Action ✍️

Take a bold step of surrender today. Release something God has been asking you to let go of, and trust Him for what He will bring in its place.
