THE SURROGATE JOURNEY: BIRTHING PURPOSE THROUGH OTHERS.  PART 3: THE WEIGHT OF THE WOMB — WHEN CARRYING GETS COMPLICATED Genesis 16:5–6 Then Sarai said to Abram, ‘You are responsible for the wrong I am suffering. I put my servant in your arms, and now that she knows she is pregnant, she despises me.’ Then Sarai mistreated Hagar; so she fled from her.” (NIV) šŸ” Quick Recap: In Part 2 , we met Hagar, the Egyptian servant chosen by Sarai to carry her child. Though not her dream, not her plan, and not her baby—she became the carrier of a promise she didn’t initiate. We learned how sometimes we are called to be the “other woman” in someone else’s destiny story—carrying, serving, interceding, and pushing someone else’s dream forward. 🤰 The Blessing that Brought Bitterness Hagar became pregnant. She was carrying the long-awaited seed. She should have been celebrated. But instead… she was mistreated. The one who chose her now chased her. The one who needed her now neglected her. The woman...

THE LIFE CYCLE OF SIN AS CHILDBEARING PART 17: LUSTFUL DESIRES (SUGAR OVERLOAD)

THE LIFE CYCLE OF SIN AS CHILDBEARING
PART 17: LUSTFUL DESIRES (SUGAR OVERLOAD)

James 1:15

Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.

RECAP OF PART 16

In the last chapter, we discussed how negative influences act as "poisonous foods" that corrupt our hearts and lead us toward sin. Now, we’ll examine Lustful Desires (Sugar Overload)—exploring how unchecked cravings may seem sweet but ultimately damage our spiritual health and pull us away from God’s purpose.

3. Lustful Desires (Sugar Overload)

Bad for Growth:

Giving in to lustful desires—whether for material things, power, or sexual immorality—is like consuming too much sugar. While sugar provides a quick burst of energy, it ultimately leads to crashes and long-term harm. In the same way, lustful desires offer fleeting pleasure but leave a lasting emptiness and dissatisfaction in our souls. These cravings pull us away from God and hinder our spiritual growth.

Scripture Reference: “But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.” — James 1:14 (KJV)

This verse reminds us that when we allow lust to take root, we’re easily led into temptation, making us vulnerable to actions that ultimately harm our relationship with God.

Analogy:

Just as consuming too much sugar leads to physical health issues, unchecked lust creates sinful patterns and leads to spiritual consequences. Over time, this “sugar overload” in our spiritual lives results in cravings that distract us from God’s purpose.

Guarding our hearts against lustful desires helps us maintain spiritual health and a stronger connection with God. Choosing His path over fleeting temptations preserves our spiritual vitality and draws us closer to Him.

REFLECTION:

What areas of your life are vulnerable to lustful cravings? How can you redirect those desires toward God’s will?

Call to Action:

Identify temptations or desires that lead you away from God. Develop practical steps—like prayer, accountability, and Scripture meditation—to resist them and renew your focus on God’s plan for your life.

PRAYER:

Lord, help me resist temptations and guard my heart against harmful desires. Fill me with Your Spirit, so I may desire only what is pleasing to You. Amen.

Next Part – Part 18:

In this final lap, we’ll focus on Bitterness and Unforgiveness (Processed Foods)—revealing how these toxic emotions quietly build up, harden our hearts, and block us from fully experiencing God’s love and peace.

šŸ“ŒLet’s Talk:

How can we recognize the early signs of lustful cravings before they control us?

What spiritual disciplines help in overcoming these cravings?

Please kindly share your thoughts, testimonies, or questions—we grow better together.

Thank you!
