Numbers 10:29-32
Moses said to Hobab, the son of Reuel the Midianite, his father-in-law, “We are journeying to the place the Lord promised to give us. Come with us, and we will treat you well, for the Lord has spoken good concerning Israel.”
But Hobab replied, “I will not go, but return to my own land and family.”
Then Moses said, “Please do not leave us. You know how we are to camp in the wilderness, and you can be our eyes. And if you go with us, whatever good the Lord does to us, we will do to you.”
RECAP OF PART 9: Honor the Compass in Others
Previously, we reflected on the significance of mutual benefits in kingdom partnerships. Just as Moses offered Hobab a share in God’s goodness, we are reminded that true partnerships in Christ are not transactional but transformational.
There’s a powerful truth hidden in Moses’ words to Hobab: “If you come with us, we will share with you whatever good things the Lord gives us.” This isn’t just a promise; it’s a picture of shared destiny. Hobab was being invited not only to assist but to partake—to inherit the blessings of God’s covenant people.
In kingdom relationships, blessings are multiplied, not hoarded. Shared destinies are rooted in shared faith and vision. Moses wasn’t asking Hobab to come and serve alone—he was asking him to come and receive as well.
Scripture Focus
“If you come with us, we will share with you whatever good things the Lord gives us.” — Numbers 10:32 (NIV)
Life Application:
Don’t walk life alone or hoard God’s goodness. You were blessed to be a blessing. Invite others into what God is doing in and through you. That’s how destinies align and multiply for the kingdom.
Hobab’s story reminds us that divine invitations often come through human voices. Moses extended a hand of partnership and a promise of shared destiny. Will we do the same with those around us?
REFLECTION:
Who in your life have you journeyed with but never fully invited into your spiritual blessings? Are there blessings in your life that could multiply if you chose to share them?
Call to Action:
Reach out this week to someone who’s walked beside you in life. Share with them a testimony, a word, or even an opportunity to serve God with you. Let them know they’re welcome to journey into destiny with you.
PRAYER:
Lord, thank You for the power of shared destinies. Help me not to walk this life of faith alone. Teach me to recognize those You’ve placed beside me and to generously share the blessings You’ve given me. May my partnerships bring glory to You and joy to others. Amen.
š Next Part – Part 11: Echoes of the Gospel – Inviting Others Into the Journey
The Gospel isn’t just about reaching a destination—it’s about inviting others into the journey. In Part 11, we’ll explore how Moses’ invitation to Hobab mirrors the heart of the Gospel: a call to partnership, to promise, and to purpose.
It’s not enough to walk with God—we’re called to call others.
Are you echoing the invitation of grace to those around you?
š¬ Let’s Talk
Who have you walked with in life, but never shared your faith journey with?
Are you extending the Gospel as a personal invitation or keeping it private?
What would it look like to intentionally invite someone into your spiritual
walk this week?
Drop your answers. Let's keep the connection alive.
Thank you!
