THE SURROGATE JOURNEY: BIRTHING PURPOSE THROUGH OTHERS.  PART 3: THE WEIGHT OF THE WOMB — WHEN CARRYING GETS COMPLICATED Genesis 16:5–6 Then Sarai said to Abram, ‘You are responsible for the wrong I am suffering. I put my servant in your arms, and now that she knows she is pregnant, she despises me.’ Then Sarai mistreated Hagar; so she fled from her.” (NIV) 🔁 Quick Recap: In Part 2 , we met Hagar, the Egyptian servant chosen by Sarai to carry her child. Though not her dream, not her plan, and not her baby—she became the carrier of a promise she didn’t initiate. We learned how sometimes we are called to be the “other woman” in someone else’s destiny story—carrying, serving, interceding, and pushing someone else’s dream forward. 🤰 The Blessing that Brought Bitterness Hagar became pregnant. She was carrying the long-awaited seed. She should have been celebrated. But instead… she was mistreated. The one who chose her now chased her. The one who needed her now neglected her. The woman...

HOBAB: PARTNERSHIP, COLLABORATION, AND GUIDE FOR THE JOURNEY PART 11: ECHOES OF THE GOSPEL – INVITING OTHERS INTO THE JOURNEY

HOBAB: PARTNERSHIP, COLLABORATION, AND GUIDE FOR THE JOURNEY
PART 11: ECHOES OF THE GOSPEL – INVITING OTHERS INTO THE JOURNEY

Numbers 10:29-32

Moses said to Hobab, the son of Reuel the Midianite, his father-in-law, “We are journeying to the place the Lord promised to give us. Come with us, and we will treat you well, for the Lord has spoken good concerning Israel.”

But Hobab replied, “I will not go, but return to my own land and family.”

Then Moses said, “Please do not leave us. You know how we are to camp in the wilderness, and you can be our eyes. And if you go with us, whatever good the Lord does to us, we will do to you.”

RECAP OF PART 10: The Blessing of Shared Destinies

In Part 10, we saw how Moses extended an invitation of shared destiny to Hobab. It wasn't just a call to help—it was a call to inherit. We were reminded to not walk alone but to invite others to partake in God’s blessings through meaningful kingdom relationships.

Moses’ words to Hobab carry a divine echo of the Great Commission. “Come with us… for the Lord has promised good things…” mirrors Jesus’ call to go and make disciples—to invite others into the blessings of His kingdom. The Gospel is not only an announcement; it’s an invitation to journey.

The Gospel is both a message and a movement. It invites people to walk with God’s people, not just believe privately. Like Moses, we must learn to say, “Come with us, and you will see what God has promised.”

Scripture Focus:

“We are setting out for the place about which the Lord said, ‘I will give it to you.’ Come with us, and we will treat you well…” — Numbers 10:29

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations… teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you…” — Matthew 28:19-20

Life Application:

You are part of a people on a journey to a promised kingdom. Evangelism is simply inviting others to join the trip. Don’t overcomplicate it. Extend the same invitation Moses gave: “Come with us.”

Evangelism isn’t just a preacher’s task; it’s a people’s mission. Like Moses, we are called to make the journey compelling and the destination irresistible—not by argument, but by love and invitation.

REFLECTION:

When was the last time you personally invited someone to walk with you in faith?

Does your life reflect a journey others would want to join?

Call to Action:

Write down the name of one person you can invite into a deeper spiritual conversation this week. Reach out with love, not pressure. Let your story reflect the journey of grace.

PRAYER:

Father, thank You for calling me into Your promises. Give me the courage and wisdom to invite others into the journey of faith. May my words and actions carry the sweet sound of Your invitation to salvation. Amen.

🔜 Next Part – Part 12: The Gospel in Action – Walking the Talk

The Gospel is not just spoken—it’s seen. In Part 12, we’ll explore what it means to live out our faith in a way that others can follow. Moses didn’t only extend an invitation—he walked the journey. Likewise, we’re called to walk the talk.

People aren’t just listening to your words—they’re watching your walk.

Is your life a living invitation to the journey of grace?

💬 Let’s Talk

Does your daily lifestyle reflect the Gospel you profess?

Who around you is watching your walk more than your words?

What can you change this week to better model the journey of Christ to others?

Kindly drop in your answers. Let's keep the connection alive.

Thank you!
