THE RAVEN: HEAVEN’S DESPATCH RIDER PART 2 — THE POWER OF “THERE”
THE RAVEN: HEAVEN’S DESPATCH RIDER
PART 2 — THE POWER OF “THERE”
1 Kings 17:3–4
“Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan. And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.”
In Part 1, we discovered that God is able to create supernatural delivery systems even in seasons of drought and dryness. While the land of Israel suffered famine, Heaven sustained Elijah through ravens at the brook Cherith. We learned that:
God’s supply is not limited by the economy, Heaven can create new channels of provision, and God still uses “despatch riders” to carry blessings, help, and answers to His people.
The major lesson was this:
When earthly systems fail, Heaven can still sustain you.
One word in this scripture carries a deep mystery. That word is:
“There.” God did not just promise Elijah provision. He connected the provision to a location. The ravens were commanded to feed Elijah “there.” The water was flowing “there.” Protection was waiting “there.”
If Elijah had chosen another location, he might have missed the delivery system Heaven prepared for him. This reveals an important truth: Many times, divine provision is connected to divine positioning. There are blessings that only function in the place God has assigned for you.
1. Every Divine Assignment Has A “There”
God could have fed Elijah anywhere, but He specifically chose the brook Cherith. Why?
Because Heaven works with instruction and alignment. Sometimes people pray for provision while standing outside the place of obedience. The “there” may represent:
a place, an instruction, a relationship, an assignment, a church, a season, or even a spiritual posture. Your “there” is the place where God’s instruction and your obedience meet.
2. Location Can Determine Manifestation
Elijah’s miracle was location-sensitive. The ravens were not flying everywhere searching for Elijah. They were assigned to one location. This means:
being in the wrong place can delay what God intended for you. Many people miss opportunities because they moved too early, stayed too long, or ignored divine direction.
There are doors that only open in certain places. There are people you will only meet in certain environments. There are miracles attached to specific instructions. Sometimes destiny changes when location changes.
3. Obedience Activates The Delivery
The scripture says:
“So he went and did according unto the word of the Lord.”
Elijah did not argue with God. He moved. Imagine if Elijah had said:
“The brook looks too hidden.” “I prefer the city.” “Ravens are unreliable.” “This instruction does not make sense.”
Delayed obedience could have affected his survival. Many times, we want explanations before movement, but God often requires trust before manifestation. The miracle started moving the moment Elijah obeyed.
4. Your “There” May Not Look Impressive
Cherith was not a palace. It was a hidden brook. Sometimes God hides people before He reveals them. The place of preparation may not look glamorous, but it can still contain divine provision.
Do not despise hidden seasons. Some of the greatest spiritual encounters happen in isolated places.
The brook may look small, but if God is there, your survival is guaranteed.
5. God Still Speaks Direction Today
God still leads His people. Sometimes through:
His Word, conviction, wisdom, godly counsel, peace in your spirit, or divine prompting. One wrong move can create unnecessary battles. One right move can open a season of preservation. This is why spiritual sensitivity matters.
Not every good place is your place. Not every open door is your door.
The question is not: “Is this available?”
The question is:
“Is this my ‘there’?”
Reflection
Have you moved away from the place God instructed you to remain?
Are you chasing visibility while God is calling you into preparation?
Sometimes frustration is not caused by lack of prayer, but by misalignment.
Elijah survived because he stayed where God sent him.
Your obedience may look small today, but it could be protecting tomorrow’s destiny.
Call To Action
Ask God to help you discern your “there.”
Do not let pressure, comparison, or impatience move you outside divine positioning.
Stay where God speaks. Move when God instructs. And trust that Heaven knows where to locate you.
Prayer
Lord, help me to recognize and remain in the place You have prepared for me. Deliver me from distraction, impatience, and wrong movements. Teach me to obey even when I do not fully understand. May I never walk away from the location connected to my provision, protection, and purpose. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
