🐦THE TAILORBIRD AND THE WISDOM OF STARTING SMALL PART 1: USING WHAT YOU HAVE IN YOUR HANDS Exodus 4:2  “What is that in your hand?” Luke 16:10  “He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much…” PERSONAL ENCOUNTER STORY Recently, I came across something that genuinely arrested my attention. I was scrolling through TikTok one evening when I saw a short clip about a small bird called the tailorbird. At first, I thought it was just another nature video—something interesting but ordinary. But as I kept watching, something unusual happened. This tiny bird was shown “ sewing ” leaves together to build its nest. At first, I doubted it. It looked almost staged. But curiosity pushed me further. I paused the video… watched it again… and then again. That moment didn’t just stay on TikTok—it followed me off the app. I found myself searching: “ Is this real? How does a bird sew leaves?” And that was the beginning of a deeper journey. The more I researched, the more I r...

THE MIRACLE YOU MUST WALK AWAY FROM PART 5 —FROM NETS TO NATIONS (FINAL LAP)

THE MIRACLE YOU MUST WALK AWAY FROM

PART 5 —FROM NETS TO NATIONS (FINAL LAP)

Acts 2:14–41

“Then Peter stood up…”

What Happens After You Leave Everything?

In Part 4, we discovered that the greatest test was not catching the fish — it was leaving them behind. We learned that:

not everything that works is meant to be kept forever, some miracles are tests of attachment, and good can become the enemy of God’s best. The disciples left behind comfort, familiarity, and immediate profit to follow Jesus into purpose.

Because sometimes: the greatest act of faith is not holding on — but letting go.

Peter left the nets. He left the boats. He left the fish. He left the familiar life he once knew. At that moment, it probably looked like loss. But heaven saw something bigger.

The fisherman who walked away from fish in Luke 5 later stood before thousands in Acts of the Apostles and preached a message that transformed nations. What looked like sacrifice became significance.

Because whenever God asks you to leave something behind for Him, it is never because He wants to empty your life — it is because He wants to expand it.

1. What You Surrender To God Is Never Wasted

Peter surrendered:

his profession, his comfort, his security, his familiar identity. But God turned his surrender into impact. The fish could feed people temporarily. But Peter’s calling would feed souls eternally.

Key Insight:

God never wastes surrendered lives.

Sometimes what feels like loss in one season becomes purpose in another.

2. Your Calling Is Bigger Than Your Current Environment

Peter thought locally. Jesus thought globally. Peter saw fish. Jesus saw nations. Many times, we only see:

today’s comfort, immediate survival, temporary success. But God sees:

generations, influence, eternal impact.

Lesson:

Your current season may be too small to contain your future assignment.

3. God Replaces Limited Identity With Eternal Purpose

Peter was known as a fisherman. But after following Jesus:

he became a disciple, a leader, a preacher, a voice in revival. The man once cleaning empty nets became the man preaching with power.

Key Insight:

When you follow God fully, He transforms not only your direction — but your identity.

4. The Reward Of Following Jesus Is More Than Material

The disciples left material things behind, but they gained:

purpose, transformation, spiritual authority, eternal impact. The world measures success by possessions. But heaven measures success by obedience and impact.

Lesson:

Some rewards cannot be counted in money — they can only be seen in purpose fulfilled.

Reflection

What if the thing God is asking you to release is small compared to where He is taking you?

What if your obedience today is connected to:

someone’s salvation, someone’s healing,

someone’s restoration, a future generation?

Peter left fish behind… but heaven used him to reach nations.

Call To Action

Do not fear surrender.

Do not allow temporary comfort to blind you from eternal purpose.

Whatever God asks you to release cannot compare to what He is preparing ahead.

Because one moment of obedience can redirect an entire destiny.

Prayer

Lord, help me to trust You enough to follow wherever You lead. Give me the courage to release every limitation, attachment, and fear that stands in the way of purpose. Transform my life into something that brings glory to You and impact to others. May I never exchange eternal purpose for temporary comfort. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Final Reflection Of The Series

The empty nets were necessary.

The miracle was necessary.

The fear was necessary.

Even the leaving was necessary.

Because God was not merely trying to bless fishermen. He was raising world changers.

Some miracles enter your life to prove God can provide. But some callings require you to leave the miracle behind and follow the Master.

God is speaking, are you listening?
