We learned that even the most anointed tool becomes powerless if unplugged from God. The Church in Acts grew because it was rooted in that divine source. Have you ever noticed how a phone emits a soft glowing light or a symbol when it’s charging? That glow isn’t the charge itself—it’s the evidence that charging is happening. In our spiritual journey, this glow is the presence of the Holy Spirit made visible in our lives. PART 1: REFILLED TO RUN—UNDERSTANDING THE NEED FOR SPIRITUAL RECHARGE


Acts 6:1-10


What Does It Mean to Download?

In today’s world, the word download is as common as breathing. We download songs, apps, documents, videos—you name it. But have you ever paused to think about what a download truly is?


To download is to receive data or information from a higher or external source into your device for functionality and access. It’s the process of taking what is available and bringing it into your system so you can operate efficiently. But here’s the twist: your phone can’t download anything without two things—power and connection.


Now imagine this: What if heaven has data—spiritual strength, wisdom, peace, and boldness—ready to be downloaded into your life, but your battery is low or your spiritual Wi-Fi is off?


This is where refilling comes in.


💧REFILLING: Power After Depletion

Refilling is more than a top-up; it is a restoration process. Spiritually, it is the Holy Spirit pouring into us again, after the wear and tear of daily life has drained our spiritual energy.


Like a phone battery, life drains us. Whether it's disappointment, temptation, exhaustion, emotional stress, ministry work, or just the busyness of our schedules—these things pull power from our spiritual batteries. Without intentional refilling, we are operating on “low battery,” easily frustrated, spiritually weak, and disconnected from divine instruction.


In Acts 6, the apostles realized that certain responsibilities were pulling energy from them—time, attention, spiritual focus. So, they selected men “full of the Spirit and wisdom” (Acts 6:3) to take up leadership roles. But here's the thing: you can't be full without first being refilled. You don’t remain full by accident—you stay full by design.


🧠 Key Point Recap

Refilling is the deliberate act of returning to the Source after depletion, just as a phone must return to the wall socket to regain strength. Without it, you die slowly—even if the screen looks on. Don’t mistake blinking for charging.



🪞 Reflection

What areas of your life are currently “low battery”?


Have you been ignoring the signs of depletion while pretending to be okay?


When was the last time you intentionally paused for a spiritual refill—not just out of crisis, but out of discipline?


Jesus withdrew often to pray—not because He was weak, but because He understood that staying full is not automatic. Even Jesus didn’t run on yesterday’s power.




🙏🏾Prayer

Father, I acknowledge that I often run on empty, pretending to be full. I’ve allowed the demands of life to drain me without returning to You for renewal. Today, I reconnect. I lay down pride and self-dependence. Refill me, Lord—refresh my spirit, recharge my soul, and reset my mind. Let me not be a flickering light, but a glowing vessel of Your power. In Jesus' name, Amen.
