THE MIRACLE YOU MUST WALK AWAY FROM PART 2 — THE MIRACLE THAT CHANGED NOTHING… YET

THE MIRACLE YOU MUST WALK AWAY FROM PART 2 — THE MIRACLE THAT CHANGED NOTHING… YET Luke 5:6–7 “And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.”  When Blessing Is Not the Final Destination In Part 1, we learned that empty seasons do not always mean failure. Peter and his companions toiled all night and caught nothing, yet that same moment of frustration became the setting for a divine encounter. We discovered that: God often visits people in seasons of exhaustion. Empty nets can prepare us for dependence on God. And one act of obedience can change everything. Peter’s failure was not the end — it was preparation for revelation. After a whole night of failure, the miracle finally came. The nets that were once empty suddenly became full. The boats that carried disappointment suddenly carried abundance. This was the biggest catch of Peter’s life. Yet something shocking happened: The miracle changed their condition temporarily, but it was not ...

THE LINE AND THE LAKE: WHEN OBEDIENCE MEETS UNLIKELY PROVISION PART 3: GO TO THE LAKE — RETURNING TO FAMILIAR PLACES WITH FRESH FAITH

THE LINE AND THE LAKE: WHEN OBEDIENCE MEETS UNLIKELY PROVISION
PART 3: GO TO THE LAKE — RETURNING TO FAMILIAR PLACES WITH FRESH FAITH

Matthew 17:27a

“Nevertheless, lest we offend them, go to the sea...” NKJV

 Recap (Part 2):

Jesus reminded Peter—and us—that sons are free. As children of the King, we operate from a place of identity, not pressure. Still, Jesus chose to pay the temple tax—not because He had to, but because He walked in wisdom, humility, and peace.

🔍 Focus: Returning with a New Instruction

Jesus says:

Go to the sea.

This may sound simple, but for Peter, the sea (or lake) wasn’t just water—it was his past profession, his place of struggle, his old way of living.

Remember Luke 5? Peter fished all night and caught nothing—until Jesus stepped into his boat. That sea held memories of frustration, empty nets, and breakthrough.

Now Jesus says: “Go back.”

Why would God send you back to a place you left behind?

Because this time, you’re not going back the same. You’re going with a word.

Key Insight:

God may return you to:

An old job

A former passion

A familiar environment

A place of past failure

But it’s not to repeat the past—it’s to redeem it.

When God gives fresh instructions, old places become fresh portals for provision.

💬 Jesus didn’t say “Go find money.” He said, “Go to the sea.”

Provision begins not with panic, but with presence and positioning.

🧠 Reflection:

Is there a place, role, skill, or idea God is calling you to revisit with fresh eyes?

Have you been resisting a “sea” you once struggled in?

Call to Action:

Ask the Holy Spirit:

“Lord, is there a ‘lake’ You’re sending me back to—this time with fresh instruction and faith?”

Write it down. Then say:

“I will go—not because it’s familiar, but because You said so.”

🙏Prayer:

Lord, give me the courage to return to the places You’re sending me—even if they remind me of past failure. Let me hear Your instruction above my fears. I choose to go, not because I’m confident in the lake, but because I trust in the One who sent me. Amen.

💬 Let’s Talk:

What does “going back to the lake” mean to you personally? Is there a place you've avoided that now feels like it's calling again?

⏭️ Teaser for Part 4:

The next step isn’t just going to the lake—it’s what you do there. In Part 4, we’ll talk about “throwing out your line”—and how your obedience activates God’s supply.
