THE SURROGATE JOURNEY: BIRTHING PURPOSE THROUGH OTHERS.  PART 3: THE WEIGHT OF THE WOMB — WHEN CARRYING GETS COMPLICATED Genesis 16:5–6 Then Sarai said to Abram, ‘You are responsible for the wrong I am suffering. I put my servant in your arms, and now that she knows she is pregnant, she despises me.’ Then Sarai mistreated Hagar; so she fled from her.” (NIV) šŸ” Quick Recap: In Part 2 , we met Hagar, the Egyptian servant chosen by Sarai to carry her child. Though not her dream, not her plan, and not her baby—she became the carrier of a promise she didn’t initiate. We learned how sometimes we are called to be the “other woman” in someone else’s destiny story—carrying, serving, interceding, and pushing someone else’s dream forward. 🤰 The Blessing that Brought Bitterness Hagar became pregnant. She was carrying the long-awaited seed. She should have been celebrated. But instead… she was mistreated. The one who chose her now chased her. The one who needed her now neglected her. The woman...

Revelation 3:4-5

4. “Yet there are some in the church in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes with evil. They will walk with me in white, for they are worthy.

5. All who are victorious will be clothed in white. I will never erase their names from the Book of Life, but I will announce before my Father and his angels that they are mine

Welcome to Part 18 of our series, The Unstained Garment: Choosing Purity Over Compromise.

In this chapter, we continue The Call to Stand Firm: Lessons from the Faithful by reflecting on Paul’s perseverance through trials and persecution. His unwavering faith and relentless commitment to spreading the gospel teach us how to endure hardship while staying rooted in Christ.

The Call to Stand Firm: Lessons from the Faithful

Paul’s Perseverance:

Paul endured countless trials—imprisonment, beatings, and constant danger—all for the sake of the gospel. Despite overwhelming opposition, he declared with confidence, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” — 2 Timothy 4:7 (NKJV)

Paul’s life was marked by intense challenges, yet he never wavered in his faith or his mission. His perseverance was driven by an eternal perspective, knowing that his earthly suffering was temporary compared to the glory awaiting him in Christ. As he wrote, “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.” — 2 Corinthians 4:17 (NKJV)

Just as the ermine values its spotless coat despite harsh conditions, Paul valued his spiritual calling above personal comfort or safety. His unwavering determination inspires us to remain faithful to God, even in the face of adversity.

Perseverance comes from trusting in God’s eternal promises and staying committed to His purpose, no matter the challenges we face. Like Paul, we are called to run our spiritual race with endurance, keeping our eyes fixed on Christ.

REFLECTION:

What keeps you going when life becomes overwhelmingly tough? Are you focusing on the eternal reward, or are you discouraged by temporary struggles? Paul’s life reminds us that what lies ahead far outweighs what we go through now.

This week, identify one challenge that’s testing your endurance. Commit it to prayer, and find a Scripture that anchors your hope. Share your journey with someone who can walk with you in prayer and encouragement.

PRAYER:

Lord, help me persevere through life’s challenges, trusting in Your strength and eternal promises. Strengthen my faith and keep me steadfast in my calling. Amen.

Let’s Talk:

Have you ever wanted to give up in your spiritual walk? What helped you keep going? Let’s encourage one another by sharing the lessons and lifelines God has given us through hard seasons.

Thank you!
