THE SURROGATE JOURNEY: BIRTHING PURPOSE THROUGH OTHERS.  PART 3: THE WEIGHT OF THE WOMB — WHEN CARRYING GETS COMPLICATED Genesis 16:5–6 Then Sarai said to Abram, ‘You are responsible for the wrong I am suffering. I put my servant in your arms, and now that she knows she is pregnant, she despises me.’ Then Sarai mistreated Hagar; so she fled from her.” (NIV) šŸ” Quick Recap: In Part 2 , we met Hagar, the Egyptian servant chosen by Sarai to carry her child. Though not her dream, not her plan, and not her baby—she became the carrier of a promise she didn’t initiate. We learned how sometimes we are called to be the “other woman” in someone else’s destiny story—carrying, serving, interceding, and pushing someone else’s dream forward. 🤰 The Blessing that Brought Bitterness Hagar became pregnant. She was carrying the long-awaited seed. She should have been celebrated. But instead… she was mistreated. The one who chose her now chased her. The one who needed her now neglected her. The woman...

THE UNSTAINED GARMENT: CHOOSING PURITY OVER COMPROMISE PART 9

Song of Solomon 2:15

"Catch us the foxes,

The little foxes that spoil the vines,

For our vines have tender grapes."

Welcome to Part 9 of our series, The Unstained Garment: Choosing Purity Over Compromise.

In this final lap on the “little foxes,” we continue identifying subtle but destructive habits that threaten our spiritual purity. By addressing these challenges, we equip ourselves to stand firm and walk in holiness before God.

5. Unforgiveness and Bitterness:

Holding onto grudges blocks spiritual growth, much like mud blocking the ermine’s entrance. These emotions poison the soul, creating a barrier that hinders a relationship with God.

Practical Example: A believer refuses to forgive a friend’s betrayal, allowing bitterness to take root and disrupt their prayer life.

Scripture Reference: “For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.” — Matthew 6:14-15 (NIV)

6. Pride and Self-Reliance:

Pride often disguises itself as confidence, but it blinds believers to their need for God’s guidance and grace. It subtly undermines spiritual purity by placing trust in self rather than in Christ.

Practical Example: A believer avoids seeking God’s help in decision-making, believing they can handle things alone, leading to unwise choices and spiritual stagnation.

Scripture Reference: “Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.” — Proverbs 16:18 (NKJV)

The little foxes, whether in relationships, emotions, or attitudes, can quietly weaken our spiritual lives if left unchecked. By addressing these challenges, we allow God to purify our hearts and strengthen our walk with Him.

REFLECTION:

What small attitudes or hidden emotions have you allowed to stay unchecked in your life? Could unforgiveness or pride be quietly stealing your spiritual peace and growth? Take a moment to invite the Holy Spirit to search your heart and highlight areas where subtle compromise has crept in.

PRAYER:

Lord, reveal and remove the little foxes in my life that threaten my spiritual purity. Teach me to rely on You and live in holiness each day. Amen.

Don’t wait for the little foxes to grow into bigger problems. Identify one attitude or habit today that needs surrendering. Pray intentionally over it, write it down, and find an accountability partner if necessary. Then, share this devotional with someone else—it might be the wake-up call they need too.

Thank you!
