THE SURROGATE JOURNEY: BIRTHING PURPOSE THROUGH OTHERS.  PART 3: THE WEIGHT OF THE WOMB — WHEN CARRYING GETS COMPLICATED Genesis 16:5–6 Then Sarai said to Abram, ‘You are responsible for the wrong I am suffering. I put my servant in your arms, and now that she knows she is pregnant, she despises me.’ Then Sarai mistreated Hagar; so she fled from her.” (NIV) šŸ” Quick Recap: In Part 2 , we met Hagar, the Egyptian servant chosen by Sarai to carry her child. Though not her dream, not her plan, and not her baby—she became the carrier of a promise she didn’t initiate. We learned how sometimes we are called to be the “other woman” in someone else’s destiny story—carrying, serving, interceding, and pushing someone else’s dream forward. 🤰 The Blessing that Brought Bitterness Hagar became pregnant. She was carrying the long-awaited seed. She should have been celebrated. But instead… she was mistreated. The one who chose her now chased her. The one who needed her now neglected her. The woman...

PRESERVING OUR INTEGRITY: BEING THE SALT OF THE EARTH PART 15

PRESERVING OUR INTEGRITY: BEING THE SALT OF THE EARTH PART 15

Matthew 5:13

"You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot."

Welcome to part 15 our series, Preserving our Integrity: Being the Salt of the Earth. In our previous devotional, we examined the spiritual consequences of losing our integrity. We saw how compromised integrity creates a rift between us and God, leading to spiritual stagnation, missed opportunities, and even negative influence on others. A life without integrity loses its power to witness for Christ and fulfill God’s purpose effectively. As believers, maintaining our integrity is vital for spiritual health and for being a light to the world.

Maintaining Integrity: The Challenge of Continuity

Starting something is often easy, but maintaining it over time requires intentional effort and discipline. Whether in our spiritual walk, relationships, or careers, sustainability is key. As Christians, maintaining integrity is crucial—it ensures that our lives remain a true reflection of Christ and that we continue to be the "salt of the earth."

Keys to Maintaining Integrity:

1. Consistency in Character

Be the same person in private as you are in public. True integrity means living with honesty and authenticity, not just when others are watching. Proverbs 10:9 reminds us, "Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out." A life of integrity brings security and peace, while deception eventually leads to exposure and shame.

2. Understanding Your Weaknesses

Acknowledging personal weaknesses allows us to put safeguards in place:

Set Boundaries to Protect Purity: If you struggle with sexual temptation, avoid situations that may lead to compromise. Never put yourself in a position where self-control might fail. Instead, establish clear boundaries and accountability structures.

Avoid Financial Temptation: If handling money tempts you towards dishonesty, avoid roles that involve managing finances. Instead, focus on areas where you can serve without jeopardizing your integrity.

REFLECTION:

Integrity is not a one-time decision but a continuous journey of making godly choices. It requires self-awareness, discipline, and a willingness to uphold righteousness even in difficult situations. Are there areas in your life where you need to set stronger boundaries?

Today, take a step towards strengthening your integrity. Identify one weakness and put a boundary in place to safeguard your character. Walk with intentionality, knowing that a life of integrity is a life of security.

PRAYER:

Lord, help us to remain steadfast in integrity. Strengthen our character, grant us wisdom in setting boundaries, and guide our steps to always honor You. Amen.

  2. As Christians, if managing money challenges your integrity, it is important to choose roles that don’t involve finances and focus on serving in ways that uphold your honesty.
