THE SURROGATE JOURNEY: BIRTHING PURPOSE THROUGH OTHERS.  PART 3: THE WEIGHT OF THE WOMB — WHEN CARRYING GETS COMPLICATED Genesis 16:5–6 Then Sarai said to Abram, ‘You are responsible for the wrong I am suffering. I put my servant in your arms, and now that she knows she is pregnant, she despises me.’ Then Sarai mistreated Hagar; so she fled from her.” (NIV) šŸ” Quick Recap: In Part 2 , we met Hagar, the Egyptian servant chosen by Sarai to carry her child. Though not her dream, not her plan, and not her baby—she became the carrier of a promise she didn’t initiate. We learned how sometimes we are called to be the “other woman” in someone else’s destiny story—carrying, serving, interceding, and pushing someone else’s dream forward. 🤰 The Blessing that Brought Bitterness Hagar became pregnant. She was carrying the long-awaited seed. She should have been celebrated. But instead… she was mistreated. The one who chose her now chased her. The one who needed her now neglected her. The woman...

PRESERVING OUR INTEGRITY: BEING THE SALT OF THE EARTH PART 16

PRESERVING OUR INTEGRITY: BEING THE SALT OF THE EARTH PART 16

Matthew 5:13

"You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot."

Welcome to Part 16 of our series, "Preserving Our Integrity: Being the Salt of the Earth." In our previous chapter, we emphasized the importance of consistency in character and setting boundaries to maintain integrity. Today, we continue with practical steps for upholding Christian values and staying true to our faith in every area of life.

Setting Boundaries: Practical Steps for Integrity

1. Recognize Your Vulnerabilities

Acknowledging areas where you are most likely to struggle is the first step toward maintaining integrity. Whether it’s financial temptation, dishonesty, or sexual purity, being aware of your weaknesses allows you to take proactive steps to avoid compromise.

Example: If you struggle with sexual temptation, avoid spending time alone with someone who might lead you into temptation. This is not about fear but about wisdom—guarding your heart and actions.

2. Create a Safe Environment

The environments we place ourselves in can either strengthen or weaken our commitment to integrity. Being intentional about your surroundings helps you avoid unnecessary temptation.

Example: If you must meet someone of the opposite sex, choose a public place like a cafƩ or a park rather than a private setting. Transparency creates accountability and reduces the risk of falling into temptation.

3. Accountability Partners

Having a strong support system helps you stay on track. An accountability partner should be someone mature in faith, trustworthy, and led by the Holy Spirit.

Example: If your accountability partner lacks spiritual discernment, they may not offer the support you need and could even expose your struggles to others, leading to unnecessary harm. Choose wisely, seeking someone who will uplift and correct you in love.

REFLECTION:

Integrity is not automatic; it requires daily, intentional choices. Where are you most vulnerable? What steps have you taken to safeguard your integrity? Consider how accountability, safe environments, and self-awareness can strengthen your commitment to living a life that honors God.

This week, identify one area where you need stronger boundaries and take a concrete step toward securing it. Whether it's limiting private conversations with someone, setting financial limits, or finding an accountability partner, take action to preserve your integrity.

PRAYER

Lord, help me to recognize my vulnerabilities and set wise boundaries that honor You. Lead me to Spirit-filled accountability partners and give me the strength to create safe environments that protect my integrity. Amen.
