THE GREAT CHEF: WHEN GOD COOKS PART 7: THE FINAL LAP — WHEN GOD SERVES YOUR STORY In Part 6, we entered the furnace with Job and the ingredient of pressure. We learned that: Pressure may touch everything around you, but not what God is preserving within you. Silence is not absence — it is part of God’s process. Not all suffering is punishment; some is preparation. And restoration comes after refinement. “ Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him…” (Job 13:15) “ The Lord restored …” (Job 42:10) Now we arrive at the table. The final stage. The moment when God serves what He has been cooking all along. Every process has an end. Every kitchen has a serving moment.. Every chef eventually presents the meal. What once looked: Bitter becomes beautiful. Delayed becomes defined. Broken becomes built. Rejected becomes revealed. Hidden becomes honored. Now the story is ready. In Part 8, we saw that love does not lower the standard. Jesus Christ loved the rich young ruler, yet still confronted the one thing he needed to surrender. God’s love corrects—because it desires transformation. Opening Thought   Not all sorrow leads to change. Some sorrow leads to retreat. It is possible to feel deeply convicted… and still walk away unchanged. Key Phrase “He went away sad…” Insight 🔍 The rich young ruler did not argue with Jesus Christ. He did not reject Him openly. He did not debate the instruction. He simply… walked away. And the Bible says: He went away sad.  Why sad? Because: He understood what Jesus was asking. He felt the weight of it. WHEN FOLLOWING JESUS COSTS EVERYTHING PART 8: WHEN LOVE DOES NOT LOWER THE STANDARD Mark 10:21 (NIV) Jesus Christ looked at him and loved him… “One thing you lack…” In Part 7, we discovered that everyone has a “ one thing .” We learned that spiritual growth is often limited not by many weaknesses, but by one area we refuse to surrender. What you won’t release can restrict how far you go with God. Opening Thought   We often think love means acceptance without challenge. But with God, love does not ignore truth—it reveals it. Sometimes, the greatest expression of love is not comfort…it is correction. Key Phrase “Jesus looked at him and loved him…” Insight 🔍 Before Jesus Christ told the rich young ruler what he lacked, the Bible makes something very clear: He loved him. This is powerful because it means: Jesus did not challenge him out of anger Jesus did not expose him out of rejection Jesus spoke out of love. He was close to Jesus—but not surrendered to Him. Opening Thought 🌅 Sometimes, the greatest barrier between you and your next level in God is not many things—it is just one thing. Not obvious.
