PART 3: THE HAND GOD CHOSE

Judges 3:15 (NLT)

"...His name was Ehud son of Gera, a left-handed man of the tribe of Benjamin..."

In Part 2, we saw that after eighteen years of oppression, Israel finally cried out to the Lord. Their cry reached heaven, and God responded—not because they deserved deliverance, but because of His unfailing mercy.

God raised an unexpected deliverer named Ehud. Before he became Israel's rescuer, he was simply entrusted with the ordinary task of delivering tribute to King Eglon. What appeared to be an ordinary assignment was actually God's divine positioning for an extraordinary purpose.

Now, we turn our attention to a detail that many people overlook but God intentionally included in Scripture.

A Detail That Was Never Meant To Be Ignored

The Bible could have introduced Ehud simply by giving us his name.

Instead, Scripture deliberately tells us that he was left-handed. God wastes no words.

Whenever the Holy Spirit highlights a detail, it is because there is a lesson waiting to be discovered.

Ehud's left-handedness was not an accident. It was part of God's sovereign design. What many may have seen as unusual, God intended to use for His glory.

God Sees What People Often Overlook

Human beings often judge by outward appearance. We are quick to measure people by their abilities, background, education, appearance, or limitations. But God looks deeper. Throughout the Bible, God repeatedly chose people others would never have expected.

He chose Moses despite his hesitation to speak.

He chose Gideon despite his fear.

He chose David though he was the youngest in his family.

Now He chose Ehud—a left-handed man—to deliver an entire nation.

God's choices remind us that His power is not limited by human expectations.

Your Difference Can Become Your Assignment

What made Ehud different became part of God's strategy. His uniqueness was not something to hide. It became something God used.

Many people spend their lives wishing they were like someone else. They compare themselves with others and feel inadequate because they do not fit society's expectations.

But God is not looking for copies. He is looking for surrendered hearts. The very thing you think disqualifies you may be the very thing God uses to fulfill your purpose.

God specializes in turning weaknesses into testimonies.

God's Strength Is Perfect In Human Weakness

The world celebrates human strength. God delights in displaying His strength through human weakness.

When God works through unlikely people, no one can take the glory for themselves.

The success belongs entirely to Him. Our limitations become opportunities for His power to be revealed.

This is why we should never despise what seems small, weak, or different about ourselves. When surrendered to God, every weakness becomes a platform for His grace.

Stop Calling Yourself Disqualified

Some people have stopped pursuing God's purpose because they believe they are not good enough.

They say:

"I'm too old."

"I'm too young."

"I don't have enough education."

"I've failed too many times."

"I don't have the right background."

But God's calling is not based on human qualifications. It is based on His grace and His purpose.

If God could use Ehud, He can use anyone who is willing to obey Him.

4. Lord, let Your strength be perfected in my weakness, and use my life to bring glory to Your name.

5. Father, make me available for Your service, and use me in ways that exceed my expectations.
