THE SURROGATE JOURNEY: BIRTHING PURPOSE THROUGH OTHERS.  PART 3: THE WEIGHT OF THE WOMB — WHEN CARRYING GETS COMPLICATED Genesis 16:5–6 Then Sarai said to Abram, ‘You are responsible for the wrong I am suffering. I put my servant in your arms, and now that she knows she is pregnant, she despises me.’ Then Sarai mistreated Hagar; so she fled from her.” (NIV) šŸ” Quick Recap: In Part 2 , we met Hagar, the Egyptian servant chosen by Sarai to carry her child. Though not her dream, not her plan, and not her baby—she became the carrier of a promise she didn’t initiate. We learned how sometimes we are called to be the “other woman” in someone else’s destiny story—carrying, serving, interceding, and pushing someone else’s dream forward. 🤰 The Blessing that Brought Bitterness Hagar became pregnant. She was carrying the long-awaited seed. She should have been celebrated. But instead… she was mistreated. The one who chose her now chased her. The one who needed her now neglected her. The woman...

THE UNSTAINED GARMENT: CHOOSING PURITY OVER COMPROMISE PART 3

Revelation 3:4-5

4. “Yet there are some in the church in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes with evil. They will walk with me in white, for they are worthy.

5. All who are victorious will be clothed in white. I will never erase their names from the Book of Life, but I will announce before my Father and his angels that they are mine

Welcome to Part 3 of our series, The Unstained Garment: Choosing Purity Over Compromise.

In this chapter, we delve into the captivating story of the ermine, a small creature whose unwavering commitment to keeping its coat spotless teaches us powerful lessons about purity, commitment, and staying true to Christ.

The Ermine’s Spotless Coat

During a youth camp at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC) in Gomoa Fetteh, our pastor shared a story that left a lasting impression on me. He spoke about a small, furry creature called the ermine, known for its dazzling white coat in winter. The ermine lives in cold, snowy climates, where it sheds its brown coat and replaces it with a pure, white one to blend into its surroundings.

However, what makes the ermine truly remarkable is its fierce determination to protect its coat at all costs. Hunters who desire its beautiful fur use a unique strategy to trap it. Instead of chasing the ermine directly, they apply mud and filth at the entrance of its den. When pursued, the ermine runs toward its home but refuses to enter because doing so would stain its precious white coat. Rather than compromise its purity, the ermine chooses to face the hunter’s trap—even at the cost of its life.

This story stirred me deeply. What would make such a small creature value its spotless coat so highly? The ermine’s commitment challenges us to ask: Do we value our spiritual purity the same way?

Just like the ermine, we are called to guard our "spiritual garments", ensuring they remain clean and reflective of God’s righteousness. The world may place “mudin our path—temptations, shortcuts, and pressures to compromise. But will we stand firm like the ermine, or will we sacrifice purity for temporary relief?

REFLECTION:

Are there areas in your life where you have allowed compromise to stain your spiritual garment?

What “mud” or temptations have been placed in your path recently? How have you responded?

How can you develop the same unwavering commitment to purity as the ermine?

Take a moment to reflect and invite the Holy Spirit to strengthen your resolve. True purity is not just about avoiding sin but about actively choosing righteousness in every situation.

PRAYER:

šŸ™ Lord, help me treasure the purity You desire and give me the strength to keep my heart unstained for Your glory. May I stand firm in faith, refusing to compromise, no matter the cost. Amen.

  2. Thank you. This is wonderful.

As Christians, we should strive to be like the ermine, treasuring our spiritual purity just as this creature values its spotless white coat. It is important to guard our hearts and lives with the same diligence, refusing to be stained by sin.
