THE REDEMPTIVE POWER OF GOD: ELISHA AND THE WIDOW'S JAR OF OIL PART 6: THE FLOW OF OBEDIENCE — WHEN FAITH MEETS ACTION 2 KINGS 4:5-6 In Part 5, we saw the importance of the secret place. The widow was instructed to shut the door behind her and her sons. We learned that some dimensions of God’s power only manifest in private obedience, away from distraction, noise, and interference. Now the miracle moves from instruction to manifestation. After obedience, separation, and preparation, the next stage is flow. This is where what was promised begins to manifest in real time. In 2 Kings 4:5-6 , the widow begins to pour oil into the vessels, and something supernatural happens—the oil continues to flow. As long as vessels were available, the oil did not stop. This reveals a powerful spiritual truth: God’s provision flows in response to continued obedience. The miracle did not happen before action—it happened during action. AT THY WORD: FROM OBEDIENCE TO DESTINY
PART 2: HE SAW TWO SHIPS: DIVINE SELECTION IN ORDINARY PLACES

Luke 5:2 

 “And He saw two ships standing by the lake; but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets.”

In Part 1, we learnt that hunger creates an atmosphere for revelation. The pressing multitude showed us that spiritual desire attracts God’s presence. We also saw that God often uses the hunger of others to prepare the stage for your destiny.


After noticing the crowd’s hunger, Jesus did something remarkable — He saw two ordinary boats, seemingly idle, and chose one as His platform.
Even in ordinary, overlooked circumstances, God sees potential. Your current situation — even the things you consider mundane or insignificant — can become the launchpad for your destiny.


1. God Sees What Others Overlook


 The fishermen were washing their nets after a night of no catch — a scene of failure in human eyes.
God looked beyond the ordinary and saw possibility, not limitation.


Lesson: God often chooses what the world overlooks.


2. Destiny Begins Where You Already Are


 Peter didn’t need to leave his boat or change locations. God came to where he was.


Lesson: Your current situation, skills, or resources can be the starting point for your destiny.


3. Obedience Flows From Being Seen by God


 God’s recognition precedes assignment. Peter’s life changed because God first saw him and called him.


Lesson: Being seen by God is the first step toward transformation.

4. Ordinary Becomes Extraordinary When God Is Involved


 Two empty boats became platforms for teaching, miracles, and calling.

Lesson: Do not despise the little or ordinary things in your life — God multiplies them for extraordinary purposes.



Reflection Questions


 Am I aware that God can use my ordinary circumstances for extraordinary purpose?


How often do I underestimate what I already have?


Am I available for God to see and use me where I am?


Do I trust that God can transform the ordinary into extraordinary?


Prayer:

Lord, thank You for seeing me even in ordinary places. Help me to obey Your word and be positioned for Your purpose. Choose my life for Your glory and guide me into the destiny You prepared for me. Amen.
