THE FREEZER, THE FRIDGE & THE HOLY OF HOLIES PART 5: THE FINAL LAP — LIVING PRESERVED IN A SPOILING WORLD

THE FREEZER, THE FRIDGE & THE HOLY OF HOLIES PART 5: THE FINAL LAP — LIVING PRESERVED IN A SPOILING WORLD Part 1 warned us that not all preservation is protection. Things can look fine while quietly decaying. 📖 “ Be watchful .” (Rev. 3:2) Part 2 showed us the danger of staying in the Outer Court — busy, visible, but not intimate. 📖 “ These people draw near… but their hearts are far .” (Isa. 29:13) Part 3 brought us into the Holy Place — illuminated, nourished, prayerful — yet still required vigilance. 📖 “ Take heed lest you fall .” (1 Cor. 10:12) Part 4 carried us beyond the veil into the Holy of Holies — the place of full preservation. 📖 “ Abide in Me .” (John 15:4) Now comes the hardest part. The Final Lap — Carrying the Presence Out. The priest did not live in the Holy of Holies forever. He entered, encountered God, and then came out to serve. 📖 “ You shall be My witnesses .” (Acts 1:8 – key phrase) Preservation is not escape. It is empowerment. From Presence to Practice Th...

TAKING THE CIVILIAN OUT OF YOU: A JOURNEY OF TRANSFORMATION PART 2: THE DISCIPLINE OF CARRYING YOUR LOAD — NO EXCUSES, NO COMPLAINTS

TAKING THE CIVILIAN OUT OF YOU:  A JOURNEY OF TRANSFORMATION PART 2: THE DISCIPLINE OF CARRYING YOUR LOAD — NO EXCUSES, NO COMPLAINTS 2 Timothy 2:3 "Endure hardship as a good soldier of Christ." Previously: We learned that no one steps into destiny carrying a civilian mindset — discipline is the price of greatness. In Part 1 , we understood the importance of mental toughness and responsibility in the journey of transformation . Now, let's dive into how carrying your load without excuses — no matter how difficult it gets — is a fundamental part of building character and reaching the next level in your life. Carrying a load is never easy. It’s tiring . It’s exhausting . Yet, it is necessary . Think about the recruits or trainees in the Ghana Customs Academy . They didn’t just carry their physical luggage; they carried their destiny. The same applies to you. Life will place burdens on you . You may feel weighed down by responsibilities in various areas — your job, relat...

TAKING THE CIVILIAN OUT OF YOU:   A JOURNEY OF TRANSFORMATION PART 1: THE JOURNEY BEGINS — A STORY Of TRANSFORMATION 2 Timothy 2:3 "Endure hardship as a good soldier of Christ."  Life has a way of drilling greatness into those willing to endure. This is a true story — a journey that mirrors what every serious-minded person must go through to fulfill destiny. My best friend had just been recruited or enlisted into the Ghana Customs Service . His joy was unmatched ; finally, he was stepping into his dream. But that dream would not come easy. Upon arrival, all recruits or trainees were ordered to board a bus . They thought they were heading straight into the academy grounds. But to their surprise, the bus bypassed the academy, driving miles away . There, they were commanded to come down — with all their luggage and belongings. No vehicle. No help . Just themselves, their load, and the journey ahead. They had to walk back to the academy carrying everything they came with — on...

DEALING WITH DIABETIC WOUNDS – A BALANCED DEVOTIONAL SERIES - FINAL LAP  PART 5: REMOVING THE DEAD TISSUE – THE PAINFUL BUT NECESSARY PROCESS Part 5: HEALING AND RESTORATION – A NEW BEGINNING - FINAL LAP  2 Chronicles 7:14 "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray... I will heal their land."  Recap of Part 4: Removing the Dead tissue – The Painful but necessary process. In Part 4 , we learned about the painful but necessary process of removing “ dead tissue .” Whether it's toxic habits , sinful behaviors, or corrupt systems, true healing requires cutting off what no longer brings life. It’s never easy, but it's the path to genuine transformation. The Final Lap: We’ve journeyed through the stages of recognizing wounds, confronting cover-ups, acting against delays, and making tough choices to remove what harms us . Now we arrive at the final lap — restoration . Healing may take time, but it is possible. Just like the diabetic patient who ...

DEALING WITH DIABETIC WOUNDS – A BALANCED DEVOTIONAL SERIES PART 4: REMOVING THE DEAD TISSUE – THE PAINFUL BUT NECESSARY PROCESS. Matthew 7:19 "Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire."  Recap of Part 3: The Cost of delay – Procrastination is Dangerous In Part 3, we explored the high cost of delay. Procrastination, whether in health, faith, academics, or leadership, can lead to irreversible consequences . We were reminded that taking swift, intentional action is crucial before damage becomes permanent. Healing isn’t just about noticing the wound or deciding to treat it —it’s about making the tough calls . When doctors treat diabetic wounds , one painful but life-saving step is removing the dead tissue . It may hurt , but it’s necessary to save the rest of the body . Likewise, there are things in our lives— habits, people, patterns—that must be cut off so we can truly heal and thrive. Key Scripture: "Every tree that does not bear go...

DEALING WITH DIABETIC WOUNDS – A BALANCED DEVOTIONAL SERIES PART 3: THE COST Of DELAY – PROCRASTINATION IS DANGEROUS

Image
DEALING WITH DIABETIC WOUNDS – A BALANCED DEVOTIONAL SERIES PART 3: THE COST Of DELAY – PROCRASTINATION IS DANGEROUS Galatians 6:7 "Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows."  Recap of Part 2: The Danger of Covering Up Wounds – Quick Fixes Don’t Work In Part 2 , we reflected on the danger of covering up our wounds . We saw how quick fixes —like the diabetic man using Vaseline—only worsen the problem . True healing begins when we confront the truth with honesty and take responsible steps toward restoration. Sometimes it’s not that we’re unaware of the wound— we just keep putting off dealing with it. We say, “ Tomorrow .” But tomorrow has a cost . Delayed obedience is still disobedience . The diabetic man knew something was wrong, but he delayed seeking help until it was too late . His leg paid the price. Many of us are paying for our delays in ways we can’t afford. Key Scripture: "Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he s...

DEALING WITH DIABETIC WOUNDS – A BALANCED DEVOTIONAL SERIES PART 2: THE DANGER OF COVERING UP WOUNDS – QUICK FIXES DON’T WORK

DEALING WITH DIABETIC WOUNDS – A BALANCED DEVOTIONAL SERIES  PART 2: THE DANGER OF COVERING UP WOUNDS – QUICK FIXES DON’T WORK Proverbs 28:13 He who covers his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy." Recap of Part 1: Recognizing the Wound – The First Step to Healing In Part 1, we learned that healing begins with recognition. Ignoring early signs—whether in our health, faith, career, or leadership — only invites deeper wounds . Awareness is the first step to change. It’s human nature to hide pain . We cover up, hoping no one notices, hoping it’ll disappear . But a hidden wound doesn’t heal — it deepens . Just like applying Vaseline to an infected diabetic wound, many of us use emotional, spiritual, or practical shortcuts instead of confronting the real issue. Sadly, quick fixes often mask deeper damage. Key Scripture: "He who covers his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy." – Proverbs 2...

DEALING WITH DIABETIC WOUNDS – A BALANCED DEVOTIONAL SERIES PART 1: RECOGNIZING THE WOUND – THE FIRST STEP To HEALING Revelation 2:4-5 "You have forsaken your first love. Remember the height from which you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first."  Not every wound bleeds. Some deteriorate quietly beneath the surface—unseen, unfelt, and unspoken—until it's too late . Just like a diabetic wound that looks minor at first but spreads when ignored , many of life's deepest issues— spiritual, emotional, physical, and even national—start small . But delay is dangerous . Healing begins when we are humble and honest enough to recognize the wound. Key Scripture: " You have forsaken your first love. Remember the height from which you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first." – Revelation 2:4-5 LIFE APPLICATION: Two years ago, a friend called me, asking for blood donation for his father-in-law, who was scheduled for a leg amputation at the 3...

It reminds u...
