THE UNPROFITABLE PROFIT: GAINS THAT BANKRUPT THE SOUL PART 12: FINAL LAP: THE PROFITABLE LIFE — WHEN THE SOUL IS PRESERVED AND REWARDED
Series Introduction: Welcome to The Virgin Path devotional series — a 7-part journey into the mystery of divine direction, purity, and holistic life alignment. In this series, we’ll uncover the hidden paths God designs for His own — roads untouched by pride, human wisdom, or worldly strength — paths that impact every dimension of your life: spiritual, physical, emotional, mental, and social.
In every generation, there are roads everyone travels — predictable, common, and visible. But God has hidden paths — divine routes marked only by the footprints of those who walk closely with Him.
These are not highways of convenience but sacred trails of obedience. It’s what Enoch experienced when he “walked with God, and was not.” It’s the narrow lane Jesus spoke of in Matthew 7:14 — “the way that leads to life, and few there be that find it.”
Job 28 calls it a “path which no fowl knoweth” — a way that cannot be discovered by skill, speed, or sharp sight, only by revelation.
Walking the Hidden Path in All Dimensions
1. Spiritual:
The hidden path is primarily spiritual. It represents God’s wisdom and guidance, revealed only to those who trust Him.
Isaiah 42:16 — “I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known.”
Faith, not sight, uncovers this path. The spiritually blind follow logic; the spiritually led follow the Spirit.
2. Physical:
God’s path often affects our daily routines, habits, and choices. Prioritizing rest and self-care. Making decisions aligned with His purpose. Saying “no” to activities or environments that distract you from your calling. Walking the hidden path may require discipline in body as well as spirit.
3. Emotional:
Choosing the unseen path can stir fear, doubt, and loneliness. You may feel isolated when walking away from convenience or crowd approval. Anxiety may arise from uncertainty. God equips the heart with courage, peace, and emotional resilience as you step forward in obedience.
4. Mental:
Human intellect is limited. This path requires divine wisdom and discernment.
Proverbs 3:5-6 — “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.” It’s about thinking God’s thoughts, not just planning your own.
5. Social / Relational:
Walking this path may require selective companionship. Align with people who encourage faith, integrity, and purity. Be willing to step away from toxic or distracting influences. The virgin path is personal and sacred — it cannot be crowded or copied.
Illustration
Think of the Israelites at the Red Sea: water ahead, Pharaoh behind. No GPS could guide them. But God opened a hidden path — a highway through the waters (Isaiah 43:16).
This is what happens on the virgin path — God creates a way no eye has seen, no bird has flown over, and no lion has conquered.
Reflection Questions

Which areas of my life — spiritual, physical, emotional, mental, or social — need surrender to God’s leading?
How can I trust Him with what I cannot yet see?
Call to Action
Pause today and ask God to show you His hidden path — not the one that looks good or popular, but the one He has prepared.
Commit to trusting Him with your decisions, your relationships, your body, and your mind.
Psalm 25:4–5 — “Show me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths. Lead me in thy truth and teach me.”
Prayer
Father, thank You for preparing a hidden path for my life. Deliver me from the temptation to follow the crowd. Open my eyes to see beyond human wisdom. Lead me by Your Spirit into the virgin path You have prepared — spiritually, physically, emotionally, mentally, and socially. Give me courage to walk where no one has walked, in alignment with Your will.bIn Jesus’ name, Amen.
Next Up — Part 2: The Flying Creatures — The Limit of Lofty Vision
Even the sharpest eyes in the sky cannot see what God reveals only to those who walk in humility. In Part 2, we’ll explore why flying high doesn’t guarantee walking right.
