THE SURROGATE JOURNEY: BIRTHING PURPOSE THROUGH OTHERS.  PART 3: THE WEIGHT OF THE WOMB — WHEN CARRYING GETS COMPLICATED Genesis 16:5–6 Then Sarai said to Abram, ‘You are responsible for the wrong I am suffering. I put my servant in your arms, and now that she knows she is pregnant, she despises me.’ Then Sarai mistreated Hagar; so she fled from her.” (NIV) 🔁 Quick Recap: In Part 2 , we met Hagar, the Egyptian servant chosen by Sarai to carry her child. Though not her dream, not her plan, and not her baby—she became the carrier of a promise she didn’t initiate. We learned how sometimes we are called to be the “other woman” in someone else’s destiny story—carrying, serving, interceding, and pushing someone else’s dream forward. 🤰 The Blessing that Brought Bitterness Hagar became pregnant. She was carrying the long-awaited seed. She should have been celebrated. But instead… she was mistreated. The one who chose her now chased her. The one who needed her now neglected her. The woman...

BUILT TO LAST: SURVIVING FOR THE SAKE OF OTHERS.

PART 18 – WHEN THE UNIFORM STARTS TO FIT: LIVING BEYOND SURVIVAL

2 Timothy 2:3

''Endure hardship as a good soldier of Christ
Jesus”

Welcome to Part 18 of our series, Built to Last: Surviving for the sake of Others.

In Part 17, we uncovered how your survival becomes someone else's lifeline. Now, we shift gears. Today, it’s about what happens when survival transforms into identity. When the pain you went through doesn’t just shape you—but starts fitting like a uniform tailored for your mission.

More Than Just Making It

Survival is the beginning—but not the end.

It’s one thing to survive military training bruised and battered. It’s another thing when the uniform no longer feels heavy… when the boots that once blistered now carry you with pride. That moment? It’s more than endurance—it’s embodiment. You’re no longer trying to fit in—you’ve grown into the role.

This is where many fall off—not because they failed the pain, but because they refused the identity that came from it.

Owning the Transformation

There’s a difference between wearing the uniform and owning it.

Charles didn’t just pass through Customs training. He came out walking taller—not in arrogance, but in assurance. Conrad didn’t just survive road runs and beatings; he became a resource for others, guiding them through the same fires.

The transformation becomes complete when you stop seeing survival as the goal and start seeing it as the launchpad.

It’s the moment a David stops being just a shepherd and becomes a warrior. It’s when Joseph stops interpreting dreams for prisoners and starts governing nations. It’s when Peter stops denying Christ and starts leading His church.

They all wore their uniform differently after they survived.

Scripture Echo: David and Goliath

David didn’t wait to wear Saul’s armor. He didn’t need to fit into a system that never trained him. He’d already survived lions and bears. That survival gave him confidence.

By the time he stood before Goliath, it wasn’t about what he wore—it was about what was formed in him through battles in the wild.

God is more interested in what fits your spirit than what fits your status.

REFLECTION: Stop Hiding Your Uniform

Some of us have survived, but we’re still walking around like civilians—downplaying our journey, hiding our scars, minimizing our growth.

But people don’t need your camouflage. They need your clarity. When your survival turns to strength, it’s time to let others know the soldier has arrived.

The world needs to see your transformation. The people you're meant to lead need to recognize your authority.

1. Own It: Accept that your past battles didn’t just bruise you—they built you.

2. Walk It: Stop trying to explain or excuse your growth. Walk in it.

3. Live It: Show up as who you’ve become. You’re not what happened to you—you’re what came out of it.

PRAYER:

Father, thank You for the survival season. Now, help me to wear the growth boldly. Let me not hide who You’ve made me. Give me the courage to walk in the fullness of my transformation, for the glory of Your name. Amen.

Next Chapter (Part 19 – Coming Soon):

“The Barracks Mentality: Why You Can’t Go Back to Civilian Thinking.” In the next part, we’ll explore how your mind must adjust to match your mission—and why what you survived is proof you’re not meant to go back.

📌LET’S TALK

1. Do you still see yourself as someone who’s “just surviving,” or have you accepted who God has made you through the process?

2. What parts of your story are you still hiding that could actually help someone else see transformation is possible?

3. Who around you needs to see you walk boldly in your “uniform” of purpose? What’s holding you back?

Share your thoughts, testimonies, or questions—we grow better together.

Thank you!
