CAN GOD TRUST YOU IN YOUR WAITING SEASON? PART 5: WHEN THE WAITING SEASON SEEMS NEVER-ENDING
CAN GOD TRUST YOU IN YOUR WAITING SEASON?
PART 5: WHEN THE WAITING SEASON SEEMS NEVER-ENDING
FINAL PART OF THE SERIES
Hebrews 10:36 (NKJV)
“For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise.”
Will You Remain Faithful Until The End?
In Part 4, we learned that another person's progress is not proof of our failure. We were challenged to celebrate others sincerely, resist comparison, and refuse to let the pain of waiting turn our hearts bitter.
Remember: Someone else's testimony
should not become the reason you lose your trust in God.
But what happens when you have waited, prayed, remained faithful, and still cannot see the end of your waiting season?
What happens when the months become years, and the answer seems further away than ever?
Will you remain faithful to God even when the waiting lasts longer than you expected?
1. DON'T ASSUME THAT YOUR PRESENT SITUATION IS YOUR FINAL DESTINATION
Genesis 40:23–41:14 (NKJV)
Joseph had interpreted the chief butler's dream while they were both in prison. He hoped the man would remember him, but the butler forgot him.
Joseph remained in prison for two more years before Pharaoh's dream created an opportunity for him to be called.
Imagine the disappointment of helping someone who later forgot you. Joseph had every reason to feel overlooked, yet his story did not end in prison.
Eventually, he was brought before Pharaoh, and God gave him the opportunity to interpret the dream that changed his circumstances. Your present situation may be painful, but don't allow it to define your entire future.
You may be waiting for employment, financial stability, marriage, ministry opportunities, or answers to difficult questions. Keep trusting God and taking responsible steps while you wait.
Your present chapter is not the whole story.
Reflection: Have you allowed your present circumstances to convince you that nothing good can happen in your future?
2. REMAIN FAITHFUL EVEN WHEN YOU CANNOT SEE THE END
Hebrews 10:35–36 (NKJV)
One of the greatest challenges of waiting is continuing to do what is right when there is no immediate reward.
It is easy to pray when answers seem close. It is easy to serve when people appreciate you. It is easy to remain hopeful when everything appears to be working.
But can you continue trusting God when the results are not visible?
Don't abandon your faith because the answer is delayed. Don't stop serving God because your circumstances have not changed. And don't compromise your convictions simply because you are tired of waiting.
Remember Joseph: before he stood before Pharaoh, he had to remain faithful through seasons he could not control.
Faithfulness is not only what you demonstrate when the promise arrives; it is also what you demonstrate while you wait.
Reflection: If your situation remains unchanged for a while longer, will you still remain faithful to God?
3. LET GOD'S WILL MATTER MORE THAN YOUR DESIRED OUTCOME
Psalm 40:1–3 (NKJV)
The psalmist speaks of waiting patiently for the Lord and receiving His help.
Waiting on God means trusting Him with both the timing and the outcome. It does not mean we will always receive everything we desire, exactly when we desire it.
Sometimes God opens the door we have been praying for. Sometimes He redirects us. Sometimes we must continue trusting Him through unanswered questions and painful circumstances. Our relationship with God must be deeper than the blessings we hope to receive.
If your faith depends entirely on getting the job, getting married, having a child, receiving recognition, or experiencing a particular breakthrough, what happens when the answer takes longer than expected?
Don't make your faithfulness conditional on receiving your preferred outcome.
Pray, plan, work diligently, seek wise counsel, and continue obeying God's Word. Leave what you cannot control in His hands.
Reflection: Do you trust God Himself, or is your trust dependent on receiving what you are waiting for?
CAN GOD TRUST YOU UNTIL THE END?
Joseph's journey reminds us that a season of obscurity does not mean God has abandoned us. His story moved from the pit to slavery, from slavery to prison, and eventually from prison to a position of authority.
But the lesson is not that every believer will experience Joseph's exact outcome. The lesson is that we must remain faithful to God, even when we cannot predict how our story will unfold.
Perhaps you are tired of waiting. Perhaps you have prayed the same prayer for years. Perhaps you have watched others receive answers while your own situation remains unchanged.
Don't give up on living faithfully.
Continue praying. Continue growing. Continue doing what is right. Continue trusting God with what you cannot control.
The greatest question is not simply, “When will my waiting season end?” It is, “Who am I becoming while I wait?”
Can God trust you with the waiting season?
Can He trust your character when the answer is delayed, your heart when others move ahead, and your faith when the outcome remains uncertain?
May your waiting season produce a deeper trust in God, stronger character, and a faith that does not depend on circumstances.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, give me the grace to remain faithful throughout my waiting season. Strengthen my heart when I grow weary, guide my decisions, and help me trust You with both the timing and the outcome. Let my life honour You, whatever season I face. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Final Reflection
If God does not answer your prayer in the way or within the time you expect, will you still trust Him, obey His Word, and remain faithful?
Final Lap: The Conclusion Of The Series
Throughout this five-part devotional series, we have explored the challenges of waiting on God and the choices we must make while waiting.
Let's reflect on the five lessons:
PART 1: WHEN THE PROMISE SEEMS DELAYED
Don't allow what you are waiting for to destroy what God is calling you to become.
PART 2: WHEN WAITING BECOMES A BATTLE
Take your pain to God instead of allowing it to become bitterness.
PART 3: WHEN TEMPTATION OFFERS A SHORTCUT
Never sacrifice your integrity to obtain what you desire.
PART 4: WHEN OTHERS ARE MOVING AHEAD OF YOU
Celebrate others without comparing their journey to yours.
PART 5: WHEN THE WAITING SEASON SEEMS NEVER-ENDING
Remain faithful to God, even when the outcome is uncertain.
YOUR WAITING SEASON IS ALSO A SEASON OF GROWING
Waiting is not always easy. It may stretch your patience, expose your fears, and challenge your faith. Yet, you can choose to let it deepen your relationship with God rather than destroy it.
Perhaps you are waiting for employment, marriage, a child, financial stability, ministry opportunities, or an answer to a prayer you have carried for years.
Whatever your situation, don't focus only on what you are waiting to receive. Pay attention to the person you are becoming while you wait.
Let your waiting season teach you patience without bitterness, faith without compromise, and contentment without comparison.
Remember, God is not merely interested in what you want to receive; your walk with Him and the condition of your heart matter too.
THIS IS THE FINAL PART OF THE SERIES, BUT IT IS NOT THE END OF YOUR JOURNEY OF FAITH.
Keep trusting God. Keep growing. Keep walking in obedience. And even when you do not understand the timing or the outcome, continue to honour Him with your life.
