RECOGNIZING AND DEVELOPING THE EVANGELIST WITHIN THE BELIEVER PART 11: FINAL LAP – DISCOVERING AND WALKING IN YOUR EVANGELIST
RECOGNIZING AND DEVELOPING THE EVANGELIST WITHIN THE BELIEVER
PART 11: FINAL LAP – DISCOVERING AND WALKING IN YOUR EVANGELIST
Acts 8:26–40, 2 Kings 5, Genesis 1–10
In Part 10, we traced God’s evangelistic strategy from creation to the desert road: Humanity was made to reflect God and share His knowledge. Noah’s Ark symbolized salvation extended to all, clean and unclean alike. God positioned nations through Noah’s descendants, including Africa.
Naaman’s obedience became a testimony in a foreign land. The Ethiopian eunuch responded to divine guidance and received baptism. We saw that God has always been sending witnesses, using ordinary believers to fulfill His mission.
Discovering the Evangelist Within
Evangelism is not just an office or a title. It is a nature placed inside every believer. Every believer has the potential to be a messenger of God’s truth. Recognition can happen within yourself as you feel the stirring to speak, act, or guide someone toward Christ.
Recognition can also come from others around you, as God highlights your influence.
Dr. Mensa Otabil said:
“Scientists don’t manufacture, they discover. It means the thing was there and they just took the cover off.”
The same applies here: the evangelist is already inside you. Your role is to discover and remove the cover.
Developing the Evangelist
Discovery alone is not enough; development is essential. Development requires:
Scriptural understanding – Knowing the Word so you can explain it with clarity.
Sensitivity to the Holy Spirit – Recognizing divine opportunities.
Boldness to act – Obedience, even in unusual or difficult circumstances.
Love for people – A genuine desire to see others encounter God.
Examples from our series:
The servant girl guided Naaman with a single sentence.
Philip led the Ethiopian eunuch to Christ through understanding and action.
Naaman carried his testimony home, impacting an entire nation.
Every believer can be a link in God’s chain of evangelism.
Walking in Your Evangelist
Once discovered and developed, the evangelist within you must walk in action:
Share your testimony boldly.
Be attentive to divine appointments.
Use your ordinary circumstances as platforms for God’s extraordinary work.
Obey God’s leading immediately—miracles and impact often flow through obedience.
Evangelism is not just a gift for a few; it is a responsibility for all believers.
Key Truth
God positions ordinary believers for extraordinary purposes.
From the first command to fill the earth, to the Ark, to Naaman, to the Ethiopian eunuch, God has always been strategically using people to reach nations.
Your life, obedience, and story are part of that eternal plan. Hallelujah!
Prayer
Heavenly Father, Thank You for revealing that the evangelist is already within every believer. Help us to discover it, develop it, and walk faithfully in it. Open our eyes to divine appointments. Give us boldness to speak, clarity to explain Your Word, and love to reach the hearts of others. Let our lives be testimonies that carry Your message across homes, communities, and nations. Empower us to be faithful witnesses for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Closing Statement
From the creation of humanity to the desert road in Acts 8, God has always been sending witnesses.
The Ark showed salvation for all.
Naaman demonstrated obedience and transformation.
The Ethiopian eunuch carried the gospel to Africa.
Now, the responsibility continues with you.
Have you discovered the evangelist within you? Have you developed it through understanding and obedience? Are you ready to walk in divine opportunities and be a witness for God’s glory?
This is the Final Lap. God has prepared the path; the call is yours.
God is speaking, are you listening?
