THE SURROGATE JOURNEY: BIRTHING PURPOSE THROUGH OTHERS.  PART 3: THE WEIGHT OF THE WOMB — WHEN CARRYING GETS COMPLICATED Genesis 16:5–6 Then Sarai said to Abram, ‘You are responsible for the wrong I am suffering. I put my servant in your arms, and now that she knows she is pregnant, she despises me.’ Then Sarai mistreated Hagar; so she fled from her.” (NIV) šŸ” Quick Recap: In Part 2 , we met Hagar, the Egyptian servant chosen by Sarai to carry her child. Though not her dream, not her plan, and not her baby—she became the carrier of a promise she didn’t initiate. We learned how sometimes we are called to be the “other woman” in someone else’s destiny story—carrying, serving, interceding, and pushing someone else’s dream forward. 🤰 The Blessing that Brought Bitterness Hagar became pregnant. She was carrying the long-awaited seed. She should have been celebrated. But instead… she was mistreated. The one who chose her now chased her. The one who needed her now neglected her. The woman...

PRESERVING OUR INTEGRITY: BEING THE SALT OF THE EARTH PART 7

PRESERVING OUR INTEGRITY: BEING THE SALT OF THE EARTH PART 7

Matthew 5:13

"You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot."

Welcome to Part 7 of our series, Preserving Our Integrity: Being the Salt of the Earth. In our last discussion, we examined how Jesus and Paul upheld integrity, setting examples for us to follow. Today, we draw wisdom from Joseph and Ruth, two biblical figures whose unwavering integrity shaped their destinies and inspired those around them.

The Power of Integrity: A Light to the World

1. Joseph—Integrity in Adversity

Joseph’s life teaches us that integrity is not circumstantial. Despite betrayal, slavery, and false accusations, he remained faithful to God. When tempted by Potiphar’s wife, he declared:

"How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God?" —Genesis 39:9

His refusal to compromise led to imprisonment, but in time, God elevated him to govern Egypt. His integrity not only preserved his own life but also saved a nation from famine.

Lesson: Your integrity today can shape your destiny tomorrow. Stay faithful, even when no one is watching.

REFLECTION:

Do you maintain your integrity even when it costs you?

How do you respond when faced with ethical dilemmas?

2. Ruth—Integrity in Relationships

Ruth’s loyalty and honesty made her a beacon of godly character. She chose to stay with Naomi despite uncertainty, and her commitment caught Boaz’s attention:

"All the people of my town know that you are a woman of noble character." —Ruth 3:11

Because of her integrity, God orchestrated a future beyond her imagination—she became part of Jesus’ lineage.

Lesson: Your integrity in relationships builds trust and opens doors to divine favor.

Reflection:

Are you loyal and trustworthy like Ruth?

Do your commitments reflect godly integrity?

Living a Life of Integrity

Be honest in all dealings, even when it's inconvenient.

Stay faithful in adversity, trusting God’s timing.

Let your integrity inspire others, serving as a witness of Christ’s love.

Integrity is not just about avoiding sin—it’s about choosing righteousness daily.

PRAYER:

Lord, help me to walk in integrity, no matter the cost. Let my life reflect Your truth and inspire those around me. Strengthen me through Your Spirit to be a light in this world. Amen.

Share your thoughts in the comments! Let's grow together in our walk with Christ.

Stay tuned for Part 8 as we explore the role of salt and our call as Christians to enhance and preserve goodness in the world.

Thank you!
