NAAMAN THE LEPER (EXPERIENCING SALVATION IN CHRIST)  PART I: A MIGHTY MAN IN NEED OF MERCY  2 Kings 5:1–17 Our anchor text is 2 Kings 5:1–17, the story of Naaman, commander of the Syrian army. The Bible describes him in 2 Kings 5:1 as: “A great man… honorable… a mighty man of valor — but he was a leper. ” That one word — but — changes everything. Naaman had: Military success Social honor Political influence. National recognition Yet, he had a hidden crisis — leprosy . This story is not just about physical healing. It is a prophetic picture of salvation in Christ. It reveals how a person can be successful outwardly but spiritually diseased inwardly — and how true restoration comes only through God. 1. The Physical Dimension – When   Strength Cannot Save You Naaman was physically strong, trained, and victorious in battle. Yet leprosy attacked his body. In biblical times, leprosy was: Progressive. Disfiguring. Isolating Humanly incurable. Spiritually, sin operates the same ...

DIVERSE HANDS, ONE MISSION PART 13– FINAL LAP - THE GRAND COMMISSION)

DIVERSE HANDS, ONE MISSION
PART 13– FINAL LAP - THE GRAND COMMISSION)

Matthew 28:18–20 (NIV)

Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’

🔁 Final Recap – The Journey We Have Walked

We began at the shoreline. Jesus called ordinary fishermen. We saw how:

The call happens in the ordinary.

Some cast nets (outward expansion).

Some mend nets (internal strengthening).

Deep water requires strong structure.

Harvest requires partnership.

Fishermen were chosen intentionally.

The unlikely are welcomed.

Strategic relationships strengthen mission.

Authority is delegated to those who walk closely with Christ.

Now we see why all of that mattered.

It was preparation for global assignment.

The Shift To Global Purpose

In Matthew 10, Jesus gave delegated authority. But in Matthew 28, after the resurrection, He declares:

All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.”

This is no longer localized mission. This is global commission. The shoreline of Galilee expands to the nations.

Notice The Order

1️⃣ Authority Declared

2️⃣ Mission Given

3️⃣ Presence Promised

Authority precedes instruction. Instruction precedes obedience. Presence sustains it all.

The Command Is Clear

Go.”Not stay. Not gather. Not build comfort zones. Go. Make disciples.” Not just converts. Not just attendees. Not just admirers. Disciples.

The casters and menders now function together. Casting brings them in. Mending grows them up. Diverse hands. One mission.

All Nations

This confirms what we saw earlier:

The Kingdom is inclusive. Different cultures. Different languages. Different histories.

The diversity that began among twelve men was preparation for global diversity.

If they could unite fishermen, tax collectors, and zealots, they could unite nations.

Baptizing And Teaching

Notice the balance:

Baptizing — outward declaration. Teaching — inward formation. Evangelism and discipleship. Casting and mending. The entire series comes full circle here.

The Powerful Promise

And surely I am with you always.”

The same Jesus who walked by the sea walks with them into the world. The mission is vast. But the presence is constant. The One who called them never leaves them.

Kingdom Principle

Unity in diversity is not optional. It is essential for global mission. One hand cannot reach the nations. One temperament cannot disciple the world. One gift cannot reflect Christ fully. But diverse hands, aligned under Christ, can.

Personal Application

Ask yourself:

Where is my “go”?

Am I making disciples or just gathering people?

Am I using my unique wiring for global purpose?

The mission is not reserved for pastors. It is for every called believer.

Your workplace is a mission field. Your home is a mission field. Your city is a mission field.

Leadership Insight

The Church thrives when:

Casters evangelize.

Menders disciple.

Leaders equip.

Partners collaborate.

Authority is exercised with humility.

Diversity is embraced under Christ.

That is how the early Church expanded in the book of Acts of the Apostles.

Different personalities. Different backgrounds. One Spirit. One mission.

Final Reflection Questions

What role do I play in this mission?

Am I aligned with Christ’s authority?

Am I contributing to unity or division?

Where is God sending me?

Final Call To Action

Do not admire the mission.

Join it.

Do not wait for perfect readiness.

Walk in obedience.

Strengthen your nets. Honor your partners. Embrace diversity. Submit to authority. Go where He sends.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, Thank You for calling ordinary people. Thank You for diverse gifts. Unite us under Your authority. Strengthen our partnerships. Empower our witness. And send us boldly to the nations. May our different hands serve one mission — Yours. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

We were called in diversity.

We were shaped in partnership.

We were empowered with authority.

Now we go with purpose.

Diverse Hands. One Mission.

God is speaking, are you listening?
